French Immersion
Central Public School offers a bilingual kindergarten program. Students in year 1 and year 2 of kindergarten receive half of their daily instruction in English and the other half in French.
As students move into grade 1, families have an opportunity to continue with French Immersion programming or choose a Core French option. Students who enroll in the French Immersion programming will have Science, Math and Literacy taught in English, whereas Social Studies, Physical Education, Health and the Arts will be taught in French. Students who enroll in the Core French program will have all subjects taught in English and will also receive 30 minutes of daily French instruction.
